Moving Your Money
If you’re moving to Indonesia, it’s very likely you’ll have to exchange a large amount of currency. Get Insurance
We always advise taking out an insurance policy with us on every move. Although we like to think we’re the best in the industry, the odd accident can occasionally happen. For added peace of mind, make sure to speak to one of our move managers about this.
If you have already contracted us for your international removal to Indonesia, then you can download the insurance form and email the completed form back to your international relocation manager.
Moving Your Car Or Motorcycle
Below is a list of the documents you will need when planning to move your vehicle to Indonesia:
- Copy of Passport (Of the individual moving/importing the goods)
- Original bill of lading (OBL) / air waybill (AWB)
- Original removal packing list, stamped by the Indonesian Embassy in the origin country (applicable only to diplomatic relocations / diplomats moving)
- Original letter of approval from the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs – PP8 (applicable only to diplomatic relocations / diplomats moving)
- Copy of ID card of the signed statement letter
- Copy of ID card of the consignee
- Original title and registration of the vehicle
- Statement letter of the consignee from the organization.
Additional Import Advice
- Only Diplomats may import motor vehicles.
Relocating Your Pets to Indonesia
These documents will be required when planning to relocate your pet to Indonesia:
- Import permit (issued by the Indonesian Directorate General of Livestock Service)
- Vaccination record
- Veterinary health certificate
Additional Import Advice
- The veterinary health certificate and the vaccination record must be issued by an authorized veterinarian in the origin country.
- Vaccinations must be given at least 30 days prior to import but no laterthan 1 year.
- Pets cannot be imported to Bali.
- Pets must be at least 90 days old for import.
- Pets should not be pregnant, nursing, or require food from another animal.
- Pets are subject to 14 days’ quarantine.
- The Directorate General of Livestock Service must be notified of the arrival of pets 2 days prior to import.
Think very carefully before moving these items to Indonesia. Items on this list will be taxed and/or require specific permission to import. In all cases they must be declared prior to you relocating to Indonesia:
- Cultural objects/statues may be taken to the Indonesian Directorate of History and Archaeology to be examined.
- The following items may qualify for free import at ‘reasonable’ quantities: Cigarettes, cigars, tobacco, Perfume, Dry food
Do not move any of these items to Indonesia:
- Buddha head statue made of stone is strictly prohibited
- Alcohol
- Motor bikes/motorized scooters, vehicle spare parts
- Politically sensitive material
- Protected species under the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES)
- Pornography
- Firearms and ammunitions, explosives gas, gasoline
- The following additional items are prohibited in GMS Baggage/Courier Consignments:
- Aerosols (all kinds, Hairspray, Deodorant etc)
- Aftershaves / Perfumes / Fragrances
- Airbags
- Alcoholic Drinks or Bottles
