Renowned as the most romantic city in the world, Paris, the “city of love”, is home to the Eiffel Tower where around 680 marriage proposals a year are asked as well as the Pont des Arts, a pedestrian bridge in Paris that crosses the Seine where visitors lock in their love, covering it in padlocks. There is also the Temple of Love in Versailles, which was commissioned by Marie Antoinette in 1778 and The Basilique du Sacré-Cœur (Sacred Heart Basilica) in Montmartre is a well-known destination for romantics as well as the religious.
